Keto Spicy Turkey Chili

Watch the whole process on Tik Tok

There are so many delicious chili recipes out there but this is one of my absolute favorites to make because there are no beans and it is super SPICY! I will go ahead and say that if you don’t like meals with a bit of a bite then this recipe is not for you haha! You can lower the spice level by omitting some of the spices (or just adding less of them) and leaving out the jalapeño seeds.

This recipe is so easy to make, nice and hearty, is gluten free, low carb, keto and most importantly SO delicious! And Pro Tip - I have found that the longer you let this simmer on the stove the better it is! And this meal is even better the second or third day...if it even lasts that long :)

Keto Spicy Turkey Chili

INGREDIENTS

2 whole bell peppers

1 whole onion

2 whole jalapeño

3 T olive oil

5 cloves garlic (or 2.5 t minced garlic)

1.5 lbs ground turkey

2 (14.5 oz) cans diced tomatoes

2 cups chicken broth

1.5 T salt

1 T chili powder

1 T cumin

1 t onion powder

1 t garlic powder

1 t oregano

1 t smoked paprika

1⁄2 t red pepper flakes

1⁄2 t ground pepper

1⁄2 t cayenne pepper

1⁄2 t chipotle pepper

2 whole bay leaves

DIRECTIONS

1. In a dutch oven, saute your onion, jalapeño, and bell peppers in some oil with a pinch of salt. Cook them until they are nice and soft, about 5 minutes.

2. Next, add in your seasonings and your minced garlic. Stir and cook until your garlic is fragrant, about 30 seconds.

3. Add in your ground turkey with a generous pinch of salt and brown the meat. This should take 5 - 7 minutes. Then add in your chicken broth, diced tomatoes and bay leaves. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer immediately and cover. Cook for at least 1 hour, but the longer it simmers, the better!

4. After an hour, give it a taste, adjust the seasonings, remove the bay leaves and then dig in. Garnish with sour cream, cheese, cilantro, green onions and more!

If you don’t have all the ingredients for the seasoning...don’t worry! The only truly essential ingredients would be the chili powder, salt, pepper, and the cumin. Just use what you have and season to taste! You can also play around with the toppings (bacon bits, Whisps, cilantro, raw onions, hot sauce, green onions, more jalapeños heehee!) but my absolute favorite toppings are sour cream, green onions, and shredded cheese. It also is delicious mixed in with some cauliflower rice.

Let me know in the comments if you prefer your chili with or without beans and if you like your meals with a spicy kick!

xoxo
